FAQ – Cosmetic Tattoos

  • How long does it last?

Although each body heals differently, depending on lifestyle (i.e. sun exposure, aging, skin condition, lip filler, skin care regimen, etc.) cosmetic tattoo services can last 1-3 years once healed.

  • How long does an appointment take?

Depending on the service, please plan for 2-4 hours.

  • How many follow up appointments will I need?

For final results, you will need an initial appointment and a touch up. Once healed, it is recommended to receive a color boost every 1-2 years.

  • Is everyone a good candidate for cosmetic tattoos?

If any of the following applies to you, please consult your artist first. However, you may not be a good candidate for cosmetic tattooing if:

    – you use Accutane, retinal products or blood thinners

    – you have received botox or filler within 1 month of your appointment

    – you suffer from cold sores

  • How can I help my appointment go smoothly?

To help your artist maintain their focus we suggest:

-refraining from using/looking at your phone during the service

-asking all questions before the tattoo starts

-saving conversation for breaks and end of service

    -following all pre-care instructions

  • What does it feel like?

Cosmetic tattoo differs from “body” tattooing by depth and technique. The goal is to gently implant pigment into the very top layer of the dermis, which is not nearly as traumatic as a regular tattoo. We also use plenty of topical numbing anesthetic throughout the entire service.

Everyone has a different pain tolerance, but most compare it to a sun burn.

FAQ – Fine Line Tattoos

  • What is a fine line tattoo?

Fine-line tattoos use small needle configurations to create thin, highly-detailed pieces. Although often referred to as “tiny” or “micro” tattoos, they can be done on both a large and small scale.

  • Do you accept hand and finger tattoos?

Yes, but we highly encourage researching healed results. Ink on the hands and fingers generally require several touchups to achieve the desired color retention. This is due to the amount of use and exposure that these areas undergo. Please keep this in mind when booking hand and finger appointments.

  • What areas of the body do you NOT tattoo?

We are currently not accepting appointments for ribs, behind the ear or between fingers. Please reach out to your artist with any questions regarding appropriate placement or sizing.

  • Do you offer color tattoos?

At this time we are focused on black and grey only. Please reach out to your artist directly if you have any questions regarding design options.

  • Will I need a touchup?

Since fine line tattoos are designed to be delicate, they can be more susceptible to disruption during the healing process. Not everyone requires a touchup but design, placement, skin type and aftercare all play a role in the healed results.

Touchups can be scheduled 3 months post appointment for $50.

  • Can I consume caffein or alcohol prior to my appointment?

Do not consume either at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Caffeine and alcohol are blood thinners – affecting the bodies normal clotting ability. This can cause extra a variety of problems increasing your chance of poor results.

Shop Policies

  • No Call / No Show

The total cost of the service will be charged for a client who does not provide 6-hour notice before missing an appointment. Please contact your artists directly via email, website contact form or social media as soon as you are aware that you will need to cancel/reschedule.

Why would I be charged for the total cost of the appointment for not showing up?

We provide multiple reminders and opportunities to cancel/reschedule. When you initially book an appointment it blocks out that time on the artists schedule, preventing any other client from booking. Not showing up the day of the appointment also means your artist can not fill the appointment with a different client, costing the artist time and money.

  • Cancellation / Reschedule

We require a 48-hour notice to cancel appointments at no charge. All cancellations will result in the loss of the non-refundable booking fee.

Clients are allowed one (1) reschedule using their initial booking fee. Any additional reschedules will result in the loss of the booking fee. Reschedules within 48-hours of their appointment may result in additional charges.

We understand life happens and we will do our best to reschedule you as soon as possible. Please contact your artist via email, website contact form or social media within 48 hours of your appointment.

  • Late Policy

A 10 minute grace period is provided to all clients and services. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late you may be asked to reschedule.

Arriving late to your appointment can disrupt the entire schedule following your service. Please contact your artist directly if you have questions.

  • Minors

No. Due to safety concerns and insurance policies, anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted in the shop.

We will not accept appointments for minors with parental consent and children are not permitted to attend their parents appointment as a guest.

If you have issues with child care, please notify your artist in advance. We understand life happens and are happy to work with you on rescheduling.

  • Guests

A plus 1 may be granted at the artists discretion. Please reach out before bringing anyone to your appointment.

Clients that require an aid due to physical disabilities are always welcome. Please contact your artist directly if you will need any additional accommodations for your appointment.

  • Pregnant / Nursing

We advise to never perform a tattoo service on a pregnant or nursing individual. This can put you and your baby at risk for improper healing and infection.

The potential for infection, ink absorption or allergic reaction are increased during pregnancy and while nursing. Hormonal and skin changes can affect the healing processes and appearance of the tattoo.
